Coming Soon to Fort Street! The Hair Garden Salon!

I am so excited! The Hair Garden Salon is moving to 1086 Fort Street as of May 1st! Looking forward to having a team of Eco-friendly, child friendly Hairstylists, Estheticians, Babysitters, Receptionists, Apprentices and Assistants! We will be using local products such as Gentle Earth and Paperdoll Mineral Cosmetics made here in Victoria and Sidney BC! Hair products from Kevin Murphay~ an Eco-friendly company from Australia and Sparitual~Vegan Nail polish and skincare line from L.A.

We will be open 6 days a week! Mon-Fri 9am to 9pm and Sat 9am-5pm
Babysitting on Board will be from 9 to 5pm Monday to Wednesday we will have "green toys" in the playarea and storytime every half hour during "Babysitting on Board"

The Bipolar Babe project was officially launched on May 14th 2009 with the goal of creating school-based programs that facilitate stigma-free conversations about mental health. Bipolar Babe has been extremely active in the community and media and is eager to take these chats to the kids in classrooms. To celebrate this, the Bipolar Disorder Society of British Columbia staged their 1st Annual Bipolar Babe Hair, Fashion & Art show.Society founder Andrea Paquette and a dedicated team of volunteers put together a fun and memorable evening that included an exceptional art gala featuring works from eight local artists, several from the Pandora Arts Collective, hair magic provided by Jennifer Davies and the eco-friendly Hair Garden Salon, hip and fashionable clothing from Hemp and Company, Shift Natural Clothing, Freedom, & Devilish Damsels, makeup and fashion headed by Katy Baker and numerous door prizes combined with an impressive silent auction.To finish off the show, the audience all stood together on cue and stomped the floor in unison chanting “Stomp out Stigma”

Origin "Gluten Free Bakery"

Tara Black completed her culinary training through North Island College and Vancouver Community College, and has spent the last 16 years building her career as a pastry chef. She has worked in bakeries and cafes, large wholesale producers and hotels. Some of her more recent employers in Victoria include the Inn at Laurel Point, and Pure Vanilla.

Marion Neuhauser started her culinary training at Camosun College, expanding her food knowledge through work at chocolateries, butcher shops, and fine restaurants throughout Canada and Europe. Marion's idea of a good night is hanging out with Tara to talk about, cook and eat food.
